For a Toronto wedding, the useful question is not “What does a place setting cost?” but “Which pieces will our guests actually use?” A venue may provide dinner plates and glasses, while another space provides none. Our rentals are priced by the individual piece, so your menu and what the venue already supplies determine the total.
Using The Plate Company’s listed prices, the three examples below range from $4.00 to $34.75 per guest in rental pieces. For 100 guests, that is $400 to $3,475 before the 10% Inventory Wear and Tear fee, applicable HST, and any delivery or pickup charges. These are planning examples, not confirmed quotes.
Three realistic budgets for 100 guests
Each list assumes one of every named piece per guest unless the line says otherwise. We use prices from our collection pages, checked October 20, 2026. The links show each piece; availability and the exact quantities for your date are checked when we prepare your quote. Each example shows the rental subtotal, 10% fee and combined subtotal before HST and delivery or pickup.
Example 1
One statement plate with the venue’s tableware
Use a Botanical Bow salad or dessert plate for one course while your venue supplies the dinner plates, glasses and cutlery. This is the cost of the accent plate only, not a complete place setting.
Example 2
A complete dinner and salad setting
Two plates, a water glass, dinner fork and knife, and a napkin. Add wine glasses, dessert service or other pieces if your menu needs them.
- Maison Blanc - Dinner Plate$5.00
- Maison Blanc - Salad/Dessert Plate$4.00
- Eaton - Water Tumbler$2.50
- Belmont Gold - Dinner Fork$1.25
- Belmont Gold - Dinner Knife$1.25
- Scalloped Napkin - White Green$3.50
Example 3
A layered, multi-course reception setting
A charger, dinner, salad or dessert and bread plate, three glasses, four flatware pieces and a napkin. Confirm the course and beverage plan with your caterer before ordering every layer.
- Marseille - Charger Plate$6.00
- Marseille - Dinner Plate$5.00
- Marseille - Salad/Dessert Plate$4.00
- Marseille - Bread Plate$3.00
- Florence Etched - Water Goblet$2.75

What changes the final quote?
The menu changes the count. A salad or dessert plate is a separate item from a dinner plate. For 100 guests served salad, dinner and dessert on fresh plates, plan for 100 plates for each course: 300 serving plates, plus any chargers. A charger adds a decorative base; it does not automatically replace a plate used for food. Ask your caterer whether they will supply or reuse any pieces and whether they want spares.
Service and delivery affect the bill. Our standard quote includes the selected rentals, a 10% Inventory Wear and Tear fee and applicable HST. Delivery and pickup are priced for your venue and arrangements. Stairs, restricted loading times or extra trips may change those charges. Delivery does not include setting or clearing the tables.
Small orders need a quantity check. We have a 25-piece minimum for each selected plate or glass set or collection. Mixing several collections does not combine their minimums. A 100-guest example clears that threshold; for a smaller wedding, tell us which collections and quantities you want so we can check the order.
How to make your budget useful
Start with your venue’s included tableware list. Then write your meal courses across the top of a page and add the plate, glass and flatware needed for each one. If your venue supplies a basic setting, you may only need an accent plate or one other special piece. If it supplies nothing, price the complete setting and confirm who will set it up and repack it.
Send us your date, venue address, guest count, preferred pieces and quantities, menu or service plan, and whether you need delivery or will collect the order. For delivery, tell us about loading windows, stairs and elevator access. We can check availability and prepare an itemized quote for your Toronto or GTA wedding.
What happens after you request a quote?
Booking and payment. A quote does not reserve the pieces. Booking requires acceptance of the rental agreement and a 50% deposit of the total contract amount. The balance is due 14 days before the earliest event date, or before service or delivery if earlier. Confirm your guest count with your caterer before the agreement’s adjustment deadline; reductions are not accepted within 14 days of the event.
Pickup and return. If you collect the order yourself, the standard arrangement is pickup one business day before the event and return one business day afterward, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Confirm dates around weekends and holidays. We wash the rentals, but your team needs to scrape plates and cutlery, empty glasses, and repack the pieces in their original packaging.
Damage and missing pieces. The 10% fee covers normal, moderate wear. It is not a damage waiver; broken, damaged or missing items can be charged separately. Our rental FAQ explains the full standard arrangements, and your confirmed quote and agreement set out the terms for your order.
